Cathy Riso
Piano

Cathy Riso (Private Piano & Singing) is a proven leader in teaching and motivating students with years of experience and expertise.  She has studied voice and piano nationally with internationally renowned teachers, and has taught for upwards of 25 years.  She started out young in church choirs and eventually ended up doing summer stock musical theater with the likes of Gene Kelly.  The next stop was Broadway, and Grace Farrell in "Annie".  With the East Coast behind her, she turned her sights on Los Angeles, and soon found herself touring with Julio Iglesias, Placido Domingo, and Charles Aznavour.  She sings in several languages, has performed for a King and US Presidents, performed her own Show all over the world, yet directed children's choirs in small churches, Cathy is very versatile indeed.  While in Los Angeles, she became involved not only as a touring artist, but as a studio singer doing commercials and films.  "Jiffy Lube", "Juicy Fruit Gum","The Preacher's Wife", and "Passion of the Christ" are all examples of Cathy's repertoire of work.  She teaches from a classical base, but believes that is the springboard for every style, from country-western to jazz to musical theater to rock to classical.  She studied piano for 7 years and has taught for 12. Cathy lives locally with her husband and 3 children.
