Jill
Burke (Private Singing)
was born and raised in Los Angeles. She always imagined herself earning
a living by being in show business. These thoughts and
visions had begun at a very early age, and she made it a
reality: Jill is a full-time performer and instructor! She
attended Fullerton College as a theater major, but spent most of her
time in the music department - mainly singing with their vocal jazz
group. She tried out her luck in the pageant world, becoming
Miss Anaheim 1991, and moving on to compete in the Miss California
Pageant. Her first professional work began performing for the
Walt Disney Company, portraying such characters as Princess Jasmine,
Ariel, and Pocahontas. Then she was drawn to the seas - she performed
onstage while traveling all around the world, mostly with Norwegian
Cruise Line, and notably opening their production of Andrew
Lloyd-Webber's "Music Of The Night." Her theater credits include:
Fiddler on the Roof, George M!, The Hot Mikado, and two productions of
Songs For A New World, one of which she was nominated for a L.A.
Ovation Award. Recently, she traveled to Scotland to perform
in the well-known Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Jill has had the privilege
of singing with and for such stars as Tony-award winning Jason Robert
Brown, Richard Carpenter, and her most memorable musical
influence...Johnny Mathis. Here at home, she frequently can be seen
singing our National Anthem for teams such as the Anaheim Angels,
Anaheim Ducks, and the L.A. Lakers. Currently, she sings with
several different projects: a musical revue entitled "Hollywood Revisited",
the a cappella group Vybration,
and the monthly L.A. cabaret show called Upright Cabaret.
She also continues to sing for audiences while working with bands for
corporate/private events.
